In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance during 92 performances of Pericles. Contractor accepted the invitation to attend Stratford's Conservatory program. Only eight men selected and four females accepted for the 20-week course in the classical theatre. Contractor was offered a slot for the following season, and was offered the role of Hermia.
