Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter from Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father taught in the school system and her mother was a stay at home mom. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick is always a fan of dancing, singing and creating puppet shows. She won in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was contacted through Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He requested that she be interested to join the show business. McCormick was chosen to play in her debut major role in 1964 in the tv spot for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show Wind It up and It Breaks in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen out of a crowd of over 1200 children who auditioned for the role of the oldest of three towheaded daughters on the brand new TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show lasted five years. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick disclosed that during the 5th season of the TV show, she nearly lost her the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. He was just 19. She was 16. The incident would have happened according to her. But, the time of our romance was not right.
